Legally recognized

The ceremony is conducted by a registrar and is legally recognized throughout the world (the certificate will bear the apostille stamp recognized through the Hague Convention).

You will need to provide us with copies of the following applicable documents:

Proof Required

  • Copies of Birth certificates
  • Copies of Valid Passports (Pictures, Full Names, Date of Birth, ID Number, Birth Country)
  • Copies of documents to show that there is no impediment or lawful hindrance to the marriage. marriage (If this cannot be obtained, an affidavit has to be signed in Seychelles after a solemn declaration has been made to that effect)
  • Divorce certificate if clients have been married before. (decree nisi absolute)
  • If either party is a widow/widower, the original death certificate is needed together with the original previous Marriage Certificate.
  • If either party has changed name proof is required (we recommend by means of a letter signed and stamped by a Notary Public).

Nationalities

  • Request for the wedding has to be made at least 15 days prior to the ceremony.
  • If any of the documents are not in English or French they will have to be translated into either language. This document will then have to be stamped and signed by a solicitor stating that it is a true translation of the original. A Sworn Translator must certify the translation. Copies of all documents must reach our company at least 3 weeks before the planned wedding date and the couples must travel with the original documents
  • If either party is under the age of 18 years, a parent must accompany him or her or Copies of parental consent needed for both parties.
  • Certain nationalities require extra formalities after the wedding for it to be considered legal in their home country. For those weddings, a supplement may be charged to cover the additional administrative work. Please enquire about the document

Requirements For Weddings

Civil ceremonies will be performed on the main island Mahé, Praslin and La Digue on Mondays to Sundays (additional fees applies for weddings during the weekends and local public holidays). The time is subject to availability of Registrar but it is usually around 14h00 – 17h00 local Seychelles time. Wedding ceremonies on Outer Islands can be organise at an additional charge.

Requirements for Weddings in the Civil Status Office: Performed on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 0900hrs and 1100hrs, in the presence of two witnesses provided by the coples. Rates will Includes transport and expenses of the Registrar.

Requirements For Outside Venues

A fee will be applied to ceremonies held on any weekday on Mahé, Praslin, La Digue, Silhoutte, Cerf Island, moyenne, North Island, Round Island, Ste Anne, Fregates, Denis Island, Anonyme, Cousine and Bird Island. The couples will have to pay the transportation cost for the Registrar officer to travel to these islands. Exceptions are made for Praslin and La Digue island.

Extra fees plus transportation cost for officer will apply for Fregate Island only..Ceremonies on any Outer Islands, including Alphonse or Desroches islands will be required to pay a different fee, plus the transportation cost to these islands for the Registrar officer.

Note For Documents

Please note that all documents must be sent to Summer Rain Tours & Travel per e-mail to info@summerraintoursis@seychelles.net at least 15 days prior to the wedding date.

Documents sent within 15 days of the wedding will incur a charge of EURO 150 Nett to be paid locally.

French Nationals

French law requires that French nationals wishing to get married in Seychelles should Contact their local municipality, the Seychelles Civil Status Office or the French Embassy in Seychelles.

The following documents, which must be less than 3 months old, must be submitted to Summer Rain Tour & Travel or directly to the French Embassy in Seychelles, at least one month before the proposed date of the wedding:

  • Copy of Birth Certificate;
  • For a non-French spouse, Copy of a translation of the Birth Certificate in French;
  • Copy of the National Identity Card or the Passport;
  • A pre-marriage Medical Examination Certificate from any medical practitioner;
  • A statement of the professions of the future spouses.
  • Ceremonies can be performed on Mahe Island only
  • Other important information will provided to couples upon request

Couples Ceremony

Couples are required to be present in Seychelles 2 days prior to the ceremony and we strongly advice 3 days minimum stay after the ceremony, provided all documents have been submitted to Registrar 14 days before the wedding. Couples must advise the Civil Status Office of their wedding date at least eleven calendar days in advance. A Special License can be issued within two days from the date of application at a cost. Apostile Stamp is required to validate the marriage certificate obtained after the civil ceremony for all nationalities. This chargeable stamp is available at the Registrar’s office located at the Supreme Court.

Note: Church Weddings without a civil ceremony is not recognized as being legal and the parties must therefore contract a civil wedding prior to the religious ceremony. Legally conducted marriages in Seychelles are recognized under European laws.

Translated wedding certificate will be sent by courier about a week and a half after the ceremony.
Note: The legal marriage certificate issued in Seychelles will be valid in Russia, NO stamps will be put in the wedding couple’s passport.

  • Prices are quoted in EURO, per wedding, and including of applicable government taxes and 10% service charge.
  • Prepayment of the package is required to secure the wedding date.
  • Please note that the above rates are per couple (2 persons). Small groups or larger parties will be quoted on request basis.
  • Other services are quotes as optional cost (photographer, make up etc…)
