Curieuse
Just a few hundred metres separates the three-square kilometre island of Curieuse from Praslin, with just a singular islet located between the two land masses. Enjoy a splendid day site seeing the amazing mountainous home of giant tortoises at Anse Volbert. From there, it’s just a short twentyminute hop over the ocean to get to Baie Lazare. Here, in the clear water, you may even be able to spot some parrotfish, and get tan under the shining star of the marvellous paradise.
Cousin Island
A plateau covered with indigenous woodland extends over most of the island, which is almost encircled by a long sandy beach. The southern coast is rocky. A hill occupies the centre of the island’s southern half. There is an area of mangroves and three small, freshwater swamps, flora and fauna that can also be found there. A marine reserve, protecting coral reefs, extends 400 m (1,300 ft) into the sea from the shoreline.
St Pierre Island
The waters around Île St. Pierre are a firm favourite with swimmers, snorkellers and yachtsmen for whom the island provides the ideal backdrop to a spectacular Seychelles sunset. One of several islands in the bay of Côte d’Or on Praslin, this tiny islet with its granite profile interspersed with some coconut palms has come, over the years, posters and evocative photographs.
